Born and raised in Indiana to a farming family, urban dwelling was rarely part of Jordan’s everyday life. His curiosities of the built environment and its affects on our society led to his interest in urban planning and design.

A move to Ball State University led to a nationally recognized education in urban planning and design. Jordan’s farming history led to strong specializations in agricultural preservation and sustainability. His rural upbringing gives him a unique perspective and a desire to find balance between nature and the built environment.

Jordan has been honored to lead projects such as a groundbreaking solar ordinance allowing streamlined solar development and requiring native pollinator plantings, a first in Indiana, achieving SolSmart Gold Status for St. Joseph County, Indiana.

The Berrien County Trails Master Plan is his greatest achievement and solidified his desired to pursue a future in transportation. This plan earned the Graham Woodhouse Intergovernmental Effort Award. Seeing the increases in pedestrian and cyclists involved crashes has fired a passion in him for mobility equity and creating safer streets for everyone who uses them. A city is only successful when residents can get to their destinations safely and conveniently, no matter the mode of transportation they use.

He is excited for the future of his career and exploring new and old ideas to make our communities livable and thriving.
